CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) -- The Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO), in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and City Economic and Enterprise Office (CEEO), spearheaded a livelihood forum for the members of the Street Food on Wheels Association at the Bulwagang Panlalawigan, Calapan City on February 15, 2024.

The gathering aimed to equip the vendors with essential skills, knowledge, and opportunities to enhance their businesses and contribute more effectively to the province's local economy.

Experts from the PCDO, DTI, and CEEO conducted workshops and seminars on business management, food safety, and hygiene standards, as well as marketing strategies tailored to the needs of mobile food businesses.

PCDO development officer Romeo Paner expressed optimism about the impact of the forum, stating that the conduct of the activity is very timely, because the food cart business in the province is on the rise and numerous Calapeños try to venture in this kind of business after the pandemic.

PCDO officer Orlando Tizon said in a message that their office would like to replicate what they have done for the street food on wheels association in Calapan City to other municipalities of the province. He also added that this is part of the vision of the provincial government to demonstrate the potential of collaborative efforts between government agencies and local businesses to drive economic growth and innovation.
