“This donation will not only empower us to preserve and showcase our shared heritage, but also to showcase many information and materials with limited space into a worldview of concepts,” De Guia said.

“The holograms would tell stories of the communities and artists, the standees would support the  request of visitors to have guided tours at the Cordillera gallery,  and finally,  the LED TV would support trainings at the ground floor,” she added.

De Guia shared that the almost 50 years old museum prides itself  for  being the hub of arts, history and culture. “Art,  because we would like to help the artists from first to fourth generation showcase their work for free. History,  because this museum that has an almost complete history of Baguio development, its people and its culture in themes,” she said.

The museum’s digitalization came from the idea of its former vice president Edilberto Tenefrancia of having a paperless library to store and tell the stories of artifacts,  and Baguio development.

The  digitalization efforts  started with the conduct of trainings to selected students.

“With these holographic exhibits, we then allow our visitors to interact with art and artifacts and the artists themselves. Our cultural heritage will be preserved, and presented in a manner that captivates and educates audiences of all ages, and revolutionize the consumption of knowledge,” she added.

Faquiang, in his message,  said the PROC in Laoag is committed to make contribution to the friendship and cooperation between China and the Philippines, as well as in the preservation of the glorious history of Baguio by helping the museum to showcase the rich history of  the city the younger generation.
