DPWH concretes farm-to-market road in Balanga

BALANGA CITY (PIA) -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the concrete paving of a 710-meter section of a farm-to-market road in Balanga City.

The infrastructure is located in sitio Bani, barangay Cataning.

DPWH Bataan 2nd District Engineer Ulysses Llado said the P14.9-million project was funded by the Department of Agriculture in the 2023 national budget to continuously improve rural connectivity by providing better access for farmers to the province’s markets.

“The national government has been prioritizing the construction of agricultural infrastructure in support of local farmers and this is one of the many projects that will help boost their productivity,” Llado shared.

The five-meter wide, two-lane road is equipped with wheel guards to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

“Completion of the project demonstrates our dedication in addressing the critical need for reliable public structures in rural areas,” Llado emphasized.

The agency remains dedicated to advancing projects that make a tangible difference in the lives of the residents it serves. (MJSC/CLJD-PIA 3)
