BONTOC, Mountain Province (PIA) -- The Philippine Red Cross-Mountain Province Chapter highlighted its celebration of the month of love with “Feb-big Couple Run V.2.0” bringing together individuals from all walks of life, uniting them under the banner of love and compassion.
With the theme, "Let us Run Together for a Healthier Heart and a Healthier Relationship”, the event was successfully held on February 10. A total of 69 individuals composed of couples, parents and children, siblings, friends and collegues covered the 8.9 kilometer-distance from the provincial plaza to Mt. Falling.
According to the Red Cross, the activity aimed to encourage people to be proactive in living a healthy lifestyle, and have a healthy heart, to cherish friendships, and celebrate accomplished goals and dreams. It is also a healthy approach of imbuing the spirit of volunteerism to all especially the youth.
A participant shared that the activity is a great way to bond with loved ones, as well as a way to rekindle love.
"The Feb-Ibig Couple Run 2 was such a memorable experience! The route we took was quite challenging as it involved an uphill road, but that didn't dampen our spirits at all. In fact, it made the event even more exciting and rewarding,” she said.
“One of the highlights of the run was the amazing atmosphere created by the organizers. They had set up photo booths and photo backdrops which allowed us to capture some wonderful memories with our loved ones. It was fun posing for pictures and seeing the creativity that went into the designs,” she added.
A similar fun and charity run will be conducted in the municipality of Natonin on February 24, 2024. Registration for this event that will cover 5.3 kilometers is still open.
Proceeds from the “Feb-big Couple Run V.2.0” will support the humanitarian core services of the PRC- Mountain Province such as the conduct of trainings, mobile blood donation, and procurement additional disaster response equipment.
