DOLE releases P9M fund assistance to Kalinga

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga(PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has released P9 million  financial aid to the province.

 Lourdes Canseco of DOLE-Kalinga reported the fund assistance is allocated to 1,632 informal workers under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) and two organizations under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP).

For the TUPAD, Tabuk City and the municipalities of Tanudan, Lubuagan, and Balbalan are allotted  about P1.9 million.  Beneficiaries  will work for 10 days  with wage of P430 per day. Applicants are now processing their requirements and work may start this month.

DILEEP beneficiaries are the Mabilong Young Workers and Weavers Association of Lubuagan, and Pantikian Farmers and Orange Planters Association and Mangliwan-lagam Farmers Association of Balbalan  that will each get P900,000 fund.

DOLE-CAR Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra, who led the ceremonial release of the aid, assured DOLE will remain as partner in answering economic needs in the grassroots.

Canseco said the agency will closely monitor TUPAD workers to assure terms and conditions of the program are complied, while technical support is provided to DILEEP beneficiaries.  

Early this month, DOLE released P5M for the Government Internship Program in the province.
