He said that though almost all municipalities want to have their respective accredited Konsulta provider, some could hardly comply with the requirements for accreditation.
"There are requirements to be satisfied to be accredited but the most important is the capacity of the health care facility to perform the necessary services and, of course, there should be a medical doctor in the area," Binasoy said.
He further encouraged every member to register with the nearest Konsulta provider to avail of health risk screening and assessment, laboratory and diagnostic tests, and drugs and medicines.
As of now, there are over 950,000 beneficiaries registered under the different accredited Konsulta package providers in the region.
Binasoy also added that, in Region 2, the total number of accredited Konsulta package providers can accommodate more than two million beneficiaries for registration.
He also said that PhilHealth Region 2 has already released more than P10 million in capitation payment in the hope of encouraging more healthcare service facilities to be accredited, especially in communities far from hospitals and clinics. (OTB/PIA Region 2)
