Anti-narcotics org spearheads outreach program for Cabarroguis residents

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - The Anti-Narcotics International Assistance Group, Inc. (NARIAG) provincial office in partnership with 18 sponsors, recently conducted an outreach program featuring mass blood donation drive, information and education campaigns and feeding program at Barangay Zamora gymnasium here.

In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, the blood donation drive was able to get 22 successful blood donors.

Barangay Councilor Eugenio B. Collado, Jr, NARIAG provincial director said the activity is in support to the quarterly blood donation program of the Philippine Red Cross-Quirino chapter to ensure sufficient supply of blood in the PRC blood bank.

“There were 22 successful blood donors who responded to our call to help save lives thru sharing their blood,” Collado said as he encouraged blood donors to donate every three months.

Under the feeding program, around 50 kindergarten learners of Zamora Elementary School were given snacks. They were also entertained by a police mascot.

During the outreach program, Land Transportation Office, Police Captain Narciso Años of the Quirino Provincial Highway Patrol Group provided lectures on road safety, anti-carnapping tips, traffic safety education, mapping, assessment and networking.

Furthermore, Joey Battad, assistant chief of the Land Transportation Office lectured on the importance of securing driver’s license and vehicle registration. He likewise urged the drivers and vehicle owners to avail of the “Balik Lisensya, Balik Rehistro campaign of their office.

Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police and the NARIAG conducted drug awareness activities highlighting the importance of drug-free community for the youth.

The just concluded outreach project was also facilitated by Janiceky Domingo, NARIAG Quirino chapter president and municipal blood donation coordinator as well as the Zamora barangay officials and staff.

NARIAG is an anti-narcotics organization carrying the mission of volunteerism and active participation in programs and activities for the development of the community.

The said organization is under the advisership of Police Captain Seonyrose Monforte of PNP Cabarroguis, Lawyer Ronalyn Barauid of Quirino State University, Joan Undalus Javier of the Regional Trial Court Branch 32 and Police Corporal Jordan Balajadia. 50 kinder garden students benefit to the feeding program conducted by the NARIAG Quirino with the help of various sponsors from the different NGAs and NGOs.
