Internal peace, security in Bataan now in 'stable' condition

BALANGA CITY (PIA) -- The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) has declared Bataan to be in a state of stable internal peace and security.

This declaration comes through a resolution signed by Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III and members of the PPOC. It was likewise affirmed by the 7th Infantry Division (7ID), the Police Regional Office 3, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Governor Garcia emphasized that the declaration aligns with the provincial government's strategic plan to transform into a highly livable area by 2030.

"Let us perceive this declaration not as the culmination of our efforts but rather as a renewed call to action. As we celebrate this achievement, let us commit ourselves to the principles of unity and progress," he added.

Garcia also urged everyone to remain vigilant and uphold peace and security in the province.

7ID Commander Maj. Gen. Andrew Costelo underscored that the declaration is a testament to the unwavering commitment and sacrifice of men and women in uniform, as well as the collaborative efforts of the Philippine Army, Philippine National Police, and local government units.

"To the brave soldiers and police officers who have demonstrated exceptional courage and determination, I commend every one of you for your unwavering commitment to protecting our communities," Costelo said.

Meanwhile, DILG Assistant Regional Director Jay Timbreza lauded the declaration highlighting its alignment with the province's strategic planning process and inclusive approach, and vowed support.

“Patuloy po ang pag-unlad ng Bataan; at kasama po ninyo ang DILG. Tutulong po kami lalung-lalo na po sa pag-establish ng good local governance (The progress of Bataan continues; and the DILG is with you. We will assist, especially in establishing good local governance),” Timbreza noted.
