Bohol Guv eyes opening Capitol satellite office in Ubay

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Feb. 8 (PIA) -- Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado is eyeing to open a satellite office of the Capitol on the other side of the island.

This aims to bring government services closer to the communities that are far from the government hub in Tagbilaran City.

Aumentao said he has plans to open a Capitol in Ubay town, some 124 kilometers away from Tagbilaran City on the opposite end of the island.

It may be recalled that during the administration of the governor’s father, the late Erico Aumentado, the Office of the Governor was also brought closer to constituents in eastern Bohol.

“While my father brought the Governor’s Office to Ubay, I wish to bring the Capitol there,” said Aumentado.

He added that it is not just the Governor’s Office that they wish bring but technical assistance also by other frontline offices.

“We can always put in a skeletal staff, we also have workers at the offices in the Capitol who might be interested for a change of

venue. And we can direct employees to man the offices opening up,” he explained.
The governor added that with this move, he hopes to quickly help the underserved residents by bringing the government closer to them. (RAHC/PIA7 Bohol)
