Oriental Mindoro launches ‘Puso Mo, Aalagaan Ko’ campaign

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) -- The Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Oriental Mindoro, in collaboration with the Oriental Mindoro Medical Society (OMMS) and the Provincial Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation, has unveiled a campaign titled "Puso Mo, Aalagaan Ko!" at the Bulwagang Panlalawigan, Provincial Capitol Complex, Calapan City.

This initiative aims to raise awareness and promote preventive measures against heart-related illnesses, coinciding with the celebration of the Philippine Heart Month.

The campaign was officially launched in an activity attended by healthcare professionals, local government officials, and student leaders from different schools in the province on Feb. 23.

The event highlighted the importance of early detection and management of cardiovascular diseases, which remain among the top causes of mortality in the country.

Provincial Administrator and current OMMS president Dr. Hubbert Christopher thanked all the individuals who participated and showed support in the conduct of the activity, especially the cardiologists from the Philippine Heart Association.

The "Puso Mo, Aalagaan Ko!" campaign features a series of activities designed to engage the public. These include free health screenings such as random blood sugar testing, random uric testing and random cholesterol testing. The activity also featured heart health seminars, and exercise programs that cater to individuals of all ages. (JJGS/PIA MIMAROPA - Oriental Mindoro)
