DILG funds construction of farm-to-market roads in Aurora town

BALER, Aurora (PIA) -- The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has funded the construction of farm-to-market roads (FMRs) in Dingalan, Aurora.

Among the areas which will benefit from P5-million grant from the 2023 Local Government Support Fund-Financial Assistance to LGU (LGSF-FALGU) are Sitios Yakal II, Narra, and Mulawin in Barangay Paltic which is 127 kilometers away from the capital town of Baler.

DILG Aurora Local Government Operations Officer Reyner Buenconcejo said LGSF-FALGU aims to provide better access to farmers and residents.

“The fund was allocated by the national government to help local government units deliver services to their constituents,” he added.

The project will save up transportation costs for farmers and enable them to reach markets more quickly and efficiently. Moreover, improved roads can give residents better access to community centers, schools, and medical facilities.

A total of 28 projects funded by LGSF-FALGU were approved and implemented in the whole province from 2021 to 2023. (CLJD/MAT-PIA 3)
