CSC issues reminders for March 3 examinees

CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles (PIA-NCR file)

MANILA, (PIA) -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has released school assignments and important reminders for examinees of the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) scheduled for March 3, 2024.

CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles advised examinees to consult Examination Advisory No. 4, s. 2024, available on the CSC website, to ensure a smooth conduct of the exam across 16 CSC testing centers nationwide.

"We urge the 361,699 individuals expected to take the CSE-PPT to check and familiarize themselves with their school assignments and Examinee’s Guide available through the Online Notice of School Assignment (ONSA) ahead of time. We do not want our application and review efforts to go to waste due to lack of preparation and failure to bring necessary items on exam day," said Chairperson Nograles.

Examinees must accurately input required information into the ONSA fields following the specified format. If encountering difficulty accessing the ONSA or unaware of their school assignment one week before the exam, examinees should directly contact the relevant CSC Regional or Field Office for assistance.

Nograles stressed the importance of arriving at the testing venue no later than 6:30 a.m., or as indicated by the concerned CSC Regional or Field Offices. Gates will close promptly at 7:45 a.m., and late arrivals will not be allowed to take the exam.

The CSE-PPT strictly enforces the "No ID, No Exam" policy. Examinees must present a valid ID card, preferably the same one used during the application process. If the original ID is lost or unavailable, other valid ID cards listed in the advisory will be accepted. Only black ballpoint pens are allowed for the exam.

Examinees are advised to wear appropriate attire, preferably plain white shirts or tops, and use transparent bags. Sleeveless shirts/blouses, shorts/short pants, ripped jeans, slippers, and other inappropriate clothing are prohibited. Long hair must be tied, and wearing face masks is optional.

The CSE-PPT Professional Level has a three-hour and 10-minute time limit for the 170-item exam, while the Subprofessional Level is allotted two hours and 40 minutes for the 165-item exam.

Bringing the test booklet outside the testing room or venue is strictly prohibited. No aids are allowed during the test, and electronic devices such as cell phones and smartwatches are not permitted in the exam area.
