CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - The Department of Science and Technology has collaborated with the Isabela State University for the establishment of a knowledge and innovation hub in the San Mariano Campus through the implementation of the Knowledge Innovation, Science and Technology (KIST) program.

DOST Provincial Director Lucio Calimag said they have already assessed the campus’ potential and laid down initial agreements for the realization of the partnership.

He said the KIST program aims to harness the potential of educational institutions as hubs of innovation and technological advancements by providing support and resources to selected campuses.

“The program also seeks to enhance research and development capabilities, promote technology transfer, and stimulate economic growth through innovation-driven initiatives,” he said.

“The assessment encompasses various aspects, including research facilities, faculty expertise, existing partnerships, and institutional support for innovation and entrepreneurship,” Calimag said.

He said the ISU San Mariano campus emerged as a promising and potential beneficiary of the KIST program as it has state-of-the-art laboratories, a diverse pool of talented faculty members, and a strong commitment to research excellence.
