Nominations open for Ilocos Region's outstanding gov't workers

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Feb. 29 (PIA) – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Region 1 is calling for nominations for the 2024 Search for Outstanding Government Workers through its Honor Awards Program (HAP).
 
Jerwin Linsangan, chief human resource specialist of CSC-Regional Office 1, said the annual search aims to recognize civil servants who have exemplified utmost dedication and commitment in their public service delivery.
 
“All permanent, casual, and co-term government workers are qualified to be nominated, as well as our appointed public officials,” Linsangan said.
 
 He said, “Awardees will be  given rewards and incentives including cash prizes, salary increase, or even promotion to next rank.”
 
State employees who have showcased exceptional achievements with national impact may be nominated for the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award.
 
On the other hand, civil servants who were able to produce innovations, digital transformation, or inflict other positive changes in the region are qualified for the CSC Pagasa Award.
 
Dangal ng Bayan Award is intended for government employees who always exhibit exemplary and ethical behavior at work.
 
Submission of nominations is until Mar. 31, 2024.
 
“Submissions are made more convenient, they just have to send it through email at ro01.pald@csc.gov.ph for nominations in the Ilocos Region,”  he said.

Regional awardees will later vie for the national category.
 
For last year's search, three civil servants in the Ilocos Region made it to the national level and received commendations before President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at the Palace on Feb. 14.
 
Raquel Rarang-Rivera and Kris Christopher Dela Cruz, both from the Alaminos City National High School, were hailed as 2023 Presidential Lingkod Bayan Awardees while Dr. Ronnalee Orteza of the Philippine Science High School-Ilocos Region Campus earned the 2023 CSC Pagasa Award.
