SSS all set to open e-Center in remote Catanduanes village

VIRAC, Catanduanes (PIA) -- The Social Security System (SSS) is set to open its doors to residents of a distant village in the island province of Catanduanes.

Officials of the SSS and Barangay Talisoy have sealed an agreement to set up an SSS e-center in the village, which is 20 minutes away from the town center of Virac.

Talisoy is situated 11.1 kilometers south of Virac town center. The only available public transport going to the village is a tricycle.

SSS Virac Branch Head Divina Avila said the e-center is a new convenient way for SSS clients to do online transactions, especially for those who are busy at work as they do not need to visit the distant SSS branch office.

SSS members residing in the barangay may process their transactions such as application for salary loan, pension loan, and ConsoLoan applications, issuance of Social Security Number, My.SSS account registration, Payment Reference Number generation, disbursement account enrollment, benefit claims application, member data change request, annual confirmation of pensioners compliance, sending of queries and obtaining SSS forms.

Avila said the SSS will train barangay personnel who will man the e-center on how to assist members who want to check their SSS records.

Talisoy Barangay Captain Recky Urbano pledged his all-out support to the e-center.
For SSS members Richelle Vargas, Nory Zalonga, Rosario Tatel, and Reku Urbano, the establishment of E-center augurs well for them to be dutiful contributors.
