Kalinga PTF-ELCAC brings government services to barangays

CITY OF TABUK,Kalinga(PIA)-- Demonstrating the ‘whole of nation’ approach, members of the  Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict converged to bring their services to the people of Barangays Upper and Lower Taloctoc in the municipality of Tanudan on March 5, 2024.

The task force held a community consultation to evaluate the development plans of the barangays, with the aim to help address the priority needs and concerns of the community.

Residents  also benefitted from free medical services, haircuts, circumcision, legal assistance, information and education activities, and a range of other services.

The event exemplifies the Philippine government’s desire to bring genuine development to Taloctoc, whose progress has been set back due to insurgency, said Department of the  Interior and Local Government-Kalinga provincial director Manolo Ballug said.

“Kayat na sauwen daytuy task force, isu ti pagtitipunan tayo, pagkakadwaan tayo, isu nga ada kami amin. Agtitinnulong tayo, barangay officials, municipal officials ken dagituy community residents. Kitaen tayo dagiyay development needs and issues ti community tapnu pagtutulungan tayo nga solbaren,” Ballug said.

Ballug assured the community of the government’s commitment to respond to their most pressing development needs.  

 “Ipapati mi diay akem mi nga mangtulong kanyayu para iti development ti community tayo. Ada lang ti maysa kondisyon mi, sumoporta kayo iti gobyerno ti Pilipinas. Iti commitment yu kanyami, haan tayo kuman nga sumupsuporta iti sabal nga pammati,” Ballug told the community.

“Thank you dituy task force. Hopefully a nga nu anya dagiyay [needs] tayo ket maikkan iti atensyon babaen kadagituy officials tayo,” Lower Taloctoc punong barangay Pablo Baliwag said.(IOS-PIA Kalinga)
