MANILA, (PIA) -- Navotas City now has 72 pumping stations following the inauguration of three more in Judge Roldan St., Brgy. San Roque; Daanghari St., Brgy. Daanghari; and Maliputo St., Brgy. North Bay Blvd. South Dagat-dagatan.

Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Cong. Toby Tiangco led the blessing and inauguration ceremony, Friday.

(Back then, every time Navotas was mentioned, besides fish, people thought of floods. It causes great harm because it affects not only our daily life but also our livelihood and health. That's why we continued the initiative of Cong. Toby and the projects he started. Toby and I continued to build pumping stations to prevent flooding in the city.)

Kung ganyan tayo mag-isip, siguradong sisikapin nating parati itong maayos at gumagana,” he added.

(We are appealing to each and everyone concerned that we have to take good care of our pumping stations. Let's think of it as our own. If we think like that, we will definitely try to keep it working properly.)

Cong. Tiangco, on the other hand, reminded Navoteños to practice responsible waste disposal.

Tiangco said.

(We all play a big role in this so that we can all avoid flooding in our city. The pump can absorb water well if there is no debris or garbage blocking it. So let's be responsible in disposing of trash.)

Also present during the inauguration were Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez and city council, barangay chairpersons, city department heads, and personnel from the Department of Public Works and Highways. (PIA-NCR)
