"To ensure the safety and security of attendees, the Chief PNP approved the suspension of PTCFOR in the province of Capiz. This suspension aligns with our commitment to maintain peace and order during the event," said a CPPO news release.
It is also asking for the understanding and cooperation of the public as the security measure intends to ensure the success and safety of the celebration.
To enhance public safety further, law enforcement will also intensify security measures, including increased patrol operations, checkpoint operations, police presence, surveillance, and strict enforcement of firearms laws to reduce security risks and ensure public safety.
"We encourage the community to cooperate fully with law enforcement and adhere to all security protocols and measures for a smooth and enjoyable festival experience," the CPPO added.
The three-week celebration marks the 123rd founding anniversary of the establishment of the civil government of Capiz thru Act No. 115 passed by the United States Philippine Commission on April 15, 1901. (AGP/AAL/PIA Capiz)
