Bulacan completes P9.46M drainage system project along Balagtas-Pandi road

CITY OF MALOLOS (PIA) – The Provincial Government of Bulacan completed a P9.46 million drainage system project along the Balagtas-Pandi provincial road in Brgy. Santol, Balagtas town.


The 987.60 linear meter drainage project was implemented through FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) which aims to address flooding through efficient flood control and provide proper discharge of waste water, rainwater, and run-offs in the area.


With the project’s completion, more than 17,000 residents and farmers will benefit. This wll also enhance safety for motorists traversing the road.


Governor Daniel Fernando said that through this project, the province could respond not only to flooding but also to the danger caused by stagnant waters, which is the source of diseases and other threats to health and safety.


For his part, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Assistant Regional Director Jay E. Timbreza congratulated the Province of Bulacan for winning the 2022 SGLG award and successfully implementing the drainage project.
 
He firmly urged everyone to protect and maintain the project and emphasized the significance of not throwing garbage in the drainage system to prolong its service years. (MJSC/VFC-PIA 3)
