This initiative is also in line with the Mental Health Act, and IFSU’s commitment to promoting the well-being, and work-life balance of its personnel, and students. It also aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal No. 3, which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
This is spearheaded by the university’s Department of Human Resources and Development and the Department of Student Services and Development, in coordination with the Gender and Development Research and Resource Center.
Every Thursday this March, everyone at IFSU is encouraged to wear purple to stand in solidarity with gender equality and women empowerment.
The color purple is globally recognized as the color associated with women, symbolizing justice and dignity.
Another feature of IFSU’s Women’s Month celebration is a songwriting and jingle competition centered on the university's first woman president, Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon. The winners will be announced on March 18. (JDP/FBR-PIA Ifugao)
