Atol sa bilateral meeting uban sa Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet sa sidelines sa 50th ASEAN-Australia Special Summit, miingon si Presidente Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. nga ang Pilipinas gustong makiglambigit sa Cambodia sa patigayon sa agrikultura, ilabi na sa bugas.

“Some MOUs that have lapsed… we really need to look back and engage with in terms of trade in agriculture, rice specifically. When I visited you in Cambodia last time, that subject that we were talking about. We were preparing for this drought. It’s now happening,” ingon ni Marcos kang Prime Minister Hun Manet.

“It caught our attention. We really should look into it. Something that is necessary now. That’s the lesson learned from pandemic. We really have to be flexible in looking to our suppliers,” dugang niya.

Gisultihan usab niya ang lider sa Cambodian bahin sa pag-uswag sa produksyon sa humay sa Pilipinas. Ang nasud nagkinahanglan pa nga mag-import aron masiguro ang imbentaryo sa bugas; ug ang usa ka lugar nga dapat susihon ug palig-onon, mao ang pagpauswag sa iyang relasyon sa ubang mga nasud nga naggama og bugas sama sa Cambodia.

Miingon pud si Marcos nga ang gobyerno sa Pilipinas nagkontrata sa usa ka grupo aron i-modernize ug ipaayo ang tugpahanan sa Manila, nga wala natagad sa pila ka tuig.

Ang gobyerno nagpalambo usab sa ubang mga tugpahanan sa rehiyon nga duol sa mga tourist spots aron madasig ang mga turista nga moanhi sa Pilipinas.

“We are also encouraging flights to regional airports. I think that is what we keep hearing, low hanging fruit. I’m sure Filipinos will be interested. I count myself. I am interested to go in… travel in Cambodia,” miingon ang Presidente.

“We have done little yet to explore. I fully agree. That’s for two countries, an advantage for us. I’m very much open for that. We will try to see, when I get back, which regional airports are ready to take international tourists and visitors.
