115 Tarlac residents complete DTI food processing training

TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- A total of 115 residents of San Manuel, Tarlac completed the food processing training of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Resource person Arceli Oriondo demonstrated the process of making carioca balls, puto, and kutsinta as well as tocino, longganisa, and siomai.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo disclosed that about 38 individuals learned rice cake making while 77 were capacitated in meat processing.

The activity, which was conducted by Negosyo Center San Manuel, seeks to introduce new skills to the participants and encourage them to start their own business.

“We hope that this opportunity will inspire the attendees to engage in entrepreneurship to uplift their lives as well as their community,” she furthered.

Moreover, Balilo expressed her gratitude to the municipal government of San Manuel for being their partner in this initiative.

“Having a strong network with the local government unit (LGU) of San Manuel leads us to developing more potential micro, small, and medium enterprises,” she added.

The LGU also awarded livelihood kits to the trainees in order to jumpstart their business venture. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
