PhilHealth portal offers convenience in online transactions

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union (PIA) – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) in Region 1 is urging members to take advantage of the PhilHealth Member Portal for a simpler and faster way to manage their healthcare membership.

"This online platform allows members to view and download their Membership Data Record (MDR), and even settle their PhilHealth contributions," said Kristine Fontanoz, PhilHealth Region 1 Information Officer-Designate.

To use the portal, members must create their account by visiting www.philhealth.gov.ph, filling out the member portal account creation, and then activating their registration.

Once activated, users must log in to their accounts to verify and ensure that the personal information in their membership profile is correct before they download and print their own MDR for free.

While the portal offers remarkable convenience, it’s important to note that certain features like online amendment of records are still undergoing enhancements.

“Updating the beneficiary and other information regarding your membership like civil status or updating the address is still through the nearest PhilHealth office and bring a supporting document,” Fontanoz said in an episode of the Kapihan sa Ilocos of the Philippine Information Agency.

For individuals in hospitals requiring urgent updates, PhilHealth now offers innovative solutions through the Electronic Member Registration and Records Amendment.

This streamlined process will allow individuals to update their information directly at PhilHealth-partnered hospitals within 72 hours, eliminating the need for office visits.

Fontanoz also announced that self-paying members now have the convenience of settling their contributions through various payment methods, including pre-paid cards, debit and credit cards, as well as GCash accounts on their website through the Member Portal.

Users can simply visit PhilHealth’s website to access the PhilHealth Member Portal and click the payment management section to generate a statement of premium account.

For those opting to pay through GCash, members can seamlessly link their accounts directly to the PhilHealth Member Portal.

Contribution payments can be paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.

With the PhilHealth Member Portal paving the way for accessible and efficient healthcare management, individuals can now navigate their healthcare journey with ease and confidence in the comfort of their homes or anywhere they may be. (JCR/AMB/MJTV/PIA Region 1)
