Mayor Jose "Bonito" Singson, Jr. emphasized the program's inclusivity.
“These fertilizers are for all of you. Whatever you need, the city government is ready to help you. Our offices are open for your requests, please tell us so that we can help protect your farmlands,” he said.
Looking ahead, the city government plans to establish a dedicated market for Vigan farmers at Plaza Burgos every Sunday.
This initiative aims to facilitate the sale of their produce, fostering a more sustainable and profitable agricultural ecosystem.
Generoso Orque, a 63-year-old farmer from Barangay Camangaan, expressed his gratitude for the ongoing support.
Farming has been his family’s main source of income and he thanked the city government for its constant support to them.
He said in the past years, they have been receiving cash assistance, seeds, and fuel subsidies.
“We are beyond grateful to the city government for this assistance, which is beneficial for us farmers,” Orque said.
The City Agriculture Office strategically distributes essential supplies like fertilizers during crucial planting seasons.
