ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) -- Senator Imee Marcos led the distribution of financial assistance to 2,000 beneficiaries from Odiongan and Romblon, Romblon on Saturday, March 16.

The cash assistance was provided under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Accompanied by Romblon Governor Jose Riano, Marcos personally handed out assistance to porters, tricycle drivers, solo parents, market vendors, and senior citizens. Each beneficiary received P3,000, totaling P6 million in cash assistance released by the DSWD to identified beneficiaries.

In her message, Marcos expressed hope that the P3,000 assistance would meet the needs of the beneficiaries.

She also took the opportunity to express her gratitude to Romblomanons for their support in helping her brother, President Bongbong Marcos, and Vice President Sara Duterte win the 2022 elections.

Marcos also opened a medical and dental mission at Romblon Provincial Hospital where patients can avail free general checkups.

Senator Marcos is in Romblon to serve as the guest speaker during the province's 123rd Foundation and 79th Liberation Anniversaries. (JKA/PJF/PIA Mimaropa - Romblon)
