Abrenian student thanks 2nd PMFC for educational assistance

BANGUED, Abra(PIA) -- A Civil Engineering student from the remote barangay of Tabacda in Tubo will be graduating this coming May 2024 through the help of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of the Abra Police Provincial Office.

Through the leadership of Force Commander PLtCol. Dickson K. Banes, the 2nd PMFC partnered with its Company Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development for a scholarship program that will help less fortunate students.

Marish Tuluyen expressed her gratitude to the PMFC and its Advisory Group for being one of the selected beneficiaries of the educational assistance program.

“Bareng makagraduar nakto nu May this year palubos ni Apo, deretsu nakton agreview para ti board examination ko. So agyamanak unay ti tulong ti 2nd PMFC kanyak ti panagbasak," she said in an interview

[ I will be graduating this May, God willing, and I will  immediately review for my board examination. So, I thank the 2nd PMFC for helping me in my studies.]

Taluyen shared that it is difficult for her parents to send them to school as they are 12 siblings, and she is the fifth.

“Dakkel talaga ti tulong ti PMFC ta dose kami gamin nga agkakabsat ket narigat nu agsasabay kami nga agbasa ta trabahador da nanang ken tatang,”she said.

[The help of PMFC means a lot because my father and my mother are just laborers, and it's hard for them to send us 12 siblings  to school.]

In an interview with 2nd PMFC-Abra Pat. Kyra Ganggangan, she said that this program dubbed "Anak mo, Anak ko, Pagadalentayo" is the PMFC's best practice.

Nag-initiate kami nga pag-eskuelaen isuna from 1st year until ag-graduate, from boarding rent, miscellaneous fees, financial needs for OJT, then sagot mi pay diay expenses na para jay board exam and review,” she explained.

[We initiated the move to sponsor her schooling from 1st year until she graduates, from boarding rent, miscellaneous fees, financial needs for OJT, and we  will also shoulder the expenses for her board exam and review.]

During the  recent Kawayan Festival, the  2nd PMCF joined in the trade fair where they sold various products such as "kiniing" and "etag" made by personnel from Benguet, chili oil, and other personalized items, which proceeds are for the scholarship program.

Most of the program  beneficiaries  are those living in conflict-affected barangays,  which is in support to the government’s anti-insurgency campaign. (JDP/CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)
