LRT-2, MRT-3 to suspend ops on Holy Week for maintenance works

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Heads up train riders! The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced its maintenance schedule this Holy Week.

In an advisory, LRT-2 operations will be suspended from Maundy Thursday, March 28, until Easter Sunday, March 31, to give way for the rail line's annual maintenance activities.

Shortened operating hours will be implemented by LRTA on Holy Wednesday, March 27. The first train at Recto Station and Antipolo Station will depart at 5:00 a.m. while the last train will depart at 7:00 p.m., for both stations.

Likewise, MRT-3 operations will be suspended from Maundy Thursday, March 28, until Easter Sunday, March 31, to give way for the rail line's annual Holy Week maintenance activities.

Regular operating hours will be observed on Wednesday, March 27, with the last train trips at 9:30 p.m. from North Avenue Station, and 10:09 p.m. from Taft Avenue Station.

Meanwhile, normal operations for both light rail lines will resume on Monday, April 1, 2024. (DOTr/LRTA/PIA-NCR)
