BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development has provided assistance to 29 Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) and rape victims in the province as part of the Women’s Month celebration.
Flordelina Granada, Provincial Social Welfare and Development officer, said the 29 VAWC and rape victims were given P5,000 each through the DSWD’s Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situations.
“This assistance will be used for the continuing education of the recipients mostly in elementary and secondary levels in public schools,” she said.
Granada said there are also other assistance which can be given to other VAWC and rape victims in the province.
She said the priority beneficiaries of their AICS are students inorder to sustain their education, interspersed with various counselling and other psycho-social interventions. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
