Nueva Vizcaya bats for zero-accident Holy Week observance

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) — Member agencies of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council have laid out their respective plans to ensure the peaceful and zero accident- free observance  of the upcoming Holy Week or ‘Semana Santa’ in the province.

Lt. Colonel Ferdinand Laudencia, chief of PNP Provincial Operations and Management Unit, said cops will be deployed near rivers and other bodies of water including resorts in the province to ensure the safety and security of the public.

“We will be coordinating with our barangay officials to ensure the safety and security of our villagers while they are staying in these areas to spend the Holy Week,” he said.

Laudencia also said policemen will also be manning strategic checkpoints to assists commuters and motorists coming inside and going outside Nueva Vizcaya as the province serves as the gateway to Cagayan Valley Region.

He said police officers will also be deployed in various traffic areas where road constructions are going on to assist commuters in partnership with concerned private contractors and volunteer civic organizations.

The Bureau of Fire Protection and the Land Transportation Office will also be establishing their OPLAN SUMVAC or Summer Vacation along the strategic portions of the national highway.

Public health agencies such as the Department of Health, Provincial Integrated Health Office and Municipal Health Offices were also encouraged to be on alert status over impending emergencies needing medical and hospital assistance. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya) PIA Photos
