Nueva Vizcaya PLGU rolls motorcycles for MDRRMOs

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) — The Provincial Local Government Unit here has distributed motorcycles for the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officers to boost their mobility, especially during disasters and calamities in their respective communities.

King Webster Balaw-ing, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management officer, said the provincial government has allocated P2.3 million for the purchase of motorcycles which was sourced through the 2022 Local Disaster Risk Reduction Fund.

“This move is crucial in boosting the logistical capabilities of MDRRMOs, enabling them to respond more effectively to emergencies,” he said.

Governor Jose Gambito and Vice Governor Eufemia Dacayo led the distribution of 14 motorcycles to the MDRRMOs during a flag raising program at the provincial capitol in this town.

Balaw-ing said the procurement of other motorcycles for the MDRRMO personnel is underway.

He said the logistical support aims to  strengthen the provincial government’s efforts towards effective disaster risk reduction management.

“The motorcycles given to the MDRRMOs is part of the provincial government’s efforts to strengthen grassroots capacity on disaster risk reduction management,” Balaw-ing said.

Governor Gambito also boasted the continuing plan of the PLGU in fully arming MDRRMOs with various assets and resources to further enhance disaster preparedness and management across the province.

“Our goal is to ensure that every municipality is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to effectively manage and respond to disasters. These motorcycles are just the beginning. We are committed to supporting our MDRRMOs in their critical work, recognizing that a well-prepared community is a resilient community,” he said. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
