Sibugay reservists join Army’s nationwide blood donation drive

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) – Around 400 reservists from all over the province rallied behind the Philippine Army’s (PA) nationwide blood donation drive conducted by the 904th Community Defense Center, 9th Regional Community Defense Group (9RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army.

The event is part of the Philippine Army's 127th Founding Anniversary on March 22, which is anchored on the theme "Dugo ko, Dugo mo, Alay sa Pilipino."

With a national target of 50,000 blood units, the Philippine Army reaffirms its steadfast dedication to serving the Filipino people in various areas.

9RCDG Battalion Commander Maj. Mujahid C. Jajurie extended his appreciation to all participants, underscoring the Philippine Army's tireless commitment to promoting the welfare of the nation.

“I extend my gratitude to our partners, stakeholders, and especially our blood donors—Army officers, PNP, enlisted personnel, reservists, ROTC cadets, and other individuals—for their support for this nationwide initiative in saving lives,” said Jajurie.

“Our efforts extended beyond the boundaries of the military, inspiring organizations and uniformed personnel to join us in this cause. This demonstrated the far-reaching impact and influence of the army's humanitarian work,” he added.

The Battalion Commander said the Army's blood donation program demonstrates not only how dedicated the army is to serving the nation but also how strong its unity can be in addressing critical healthcare needs.

“Each donation demonstrates the compassion and solidarity that are intrinsic to the Filipino people and offers hope to those who are in need.” 

The said blood donation drive is in partnership with the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Hospital, Red Cross, Ipil Rural Health Unit, Barangay Bangkerohan Health Station, Maritime Police, Police Provincial Medical team, Philippine Information Agency-Sibugay, ROTC Unit from Mindanao State University-Buug, Sibugay Technical Institute Incorporated-Ipil, Dr. Aurelio Mendoza Memorial College, the Fraternal Order of Eagles (Philippine Eagles) , and 1st CMO Battalion Unit of Philippine Army.
