Tanudan looks forward to easier travel with construction of Mangkotan Bridge

TANUDAN, Kalinga(PIA)--Tanudan residents  particularly in the village of Lubo look forward to better travel conditions as the construction of the Mangkotan bridge begins.

Implemented by the Lower Kalinga District Engineering Office, the project will link the concreted sections of the national road that connects the village of Lubo to sitio Banagao where the town’s municipal hall and hospital are located.

The bridge will  also provide a safe passage over a river that swells and becomes dangerous during rainy days.

“Nu awan ti rangtay idiay, nu dumakkel diay waig talaga nu rainy days, haan tayo nga makasirrek idiay Lubo, agpatingga tayo lang Banagao,” said John Ryan Awingan, designated information officer of Tanudan.

Awingan said the project is part of a package of bridges with allocated funding of around P106 million through the initiative of Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang.

The people of Tanudan are grateful for the project as it brings closer to reality the town’s dream of having a cemented road connecting its villages.

Since the concreting of the Tabuk-Banawe via Tanudan road, travel has significantly improved in the municipality.

Awingan said two more bridges need to be constructed to join the concreted sections of the national road that has so far reached the village of Lubo.

With the allocation of another P80 million this year, the concreting will reach the village of Gaang, and with future funding, the village of Dacalan.

“[The people of Tanudan thanks the] congressman kasi very supportive idiay administration ni Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag ket sapay kuma ta tuloy-tuloy inggana dumanon diay Dacalan ti concreting,” Awingan said.

“Dakkel a ti impact na [ti concreting] kanyatayu nga taga Tanudan ta siyempre lumag-an ti transportation. Nu umasideg ti kalsa medyo ada met pagbaliwan ti ili. Dagita businesses makalaka dan tun,” he added.(JDP/IOS-PIA Kalinga)
