LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA) --  Farmers in this town can now store and transport their produce properly with the provision of crates from the Office of Senator Imee Marcos.
 
Mayor Romeo Salda and Municipal Agriculturist Nida Organo led the distribution  of  500 crates and t-shirts to different farmers' associations composed of strawberry growers, vegetable farmers, and cut flower growers from all the 16 barangays of La Trinidad at the municipal grounds on  March 14, 2024.
 
Salda said the provision of crates  is part of the Senator's  agricultural interventions especially to reduce  post harvest loss of fresh fruits and vegetables. 

"She told me that she will be giving t-shirts and crates to all farmers. So this program is a program of Senator Imee Marcos. The t-shirt is for them to use and the crates are intended for their harvest, strawberries and vegetables," said Salda.
 
The 500 crates delivered are part of the requested  2,000 crates for the strawberry and vegetable farmers in the municipality.
 
The beneficiaries also expressed their gratitude, emphasizing the importance of this intervention  to ease their work, and reduce post harvest loss.  

“Nu agsimilia kami mabalin mi nga usaren dayta, ken nu aglako kami isu ti usaren mi dayta tapnu haan nga madadael dyay lako mi. Kasta met nu agibunag kami dagiyay products mi,” Milagros Fidel, a beneficiary expressed.
