CSC reminds gov't workers of April 30 deadline for SALN

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is reminding all government officials and employees nationwide to submit their sworn Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) for the year 2023 by April 30, 2024.

According to the 1987 Philippine Constitution and Republic Act No. 6713, also known as the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, all government workers, whether regular or temporary, must file a SALN annually.

Newly-hired civil servants are required to file their SALN within 30 days from assuming office and within 30 days after leaving the service.

CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles emphasized the importance of truthfully completing this task to promote transparency and maintain the public's trust.

Excluded from the filing requirement are government employees serving in honorary capacity, those with laborer positions, and casual or temporary workers.

The SALN should provide a detailed declaration of assets, liabilities, net worth, business interests, and financial connections of the employee, their spouse, unmarried children under 18 years old living with them, and relatives in government service within the fourth degree of consanguinity or affinity.

Married individuals employed in government service may file their SALN jointly or separately.

Failure to submit a sworn SALN and disclose financial interests can lead to administrative disciplinary action, including suspension or dismissal from service.

The SALN form and FAQs are available on the CSC website at www.csc.gov.ph. (AVS/PIA-NCR)
