DAR provides farm machineries, skills enhancement training to Ifugao ARBO

LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) - -  An agrarian reform beneficiary organization(ARBO) in the municipality of Mayoyao received farm machineries and skills enhancement training from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).


Turned over to the Bongan Agrarian Reform Inc. were one-unit mini rice mill, two units mini thresher, two units brush cutter, and two units rice grinder worth P280,200.00.


DAR-Ifugao Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Leonor C. Bascos underscored the importance of providing proper care to the farm machinery and equipment,  and ensuring sustainability of the organization.

 

“This program's benefits extend beyond Bongan Agrarian Reform Inc members to include neighboring ARBOs, agrarian reform beneficiaries  and other small farmers in the municipality,” she said.  


DAR has also granted the Bongan ARF Inc.  the amount of  443,695.00 under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity - Sustainable Livelihood Support for Disaster Affected Areas program. This initiative is designed to enhance farm productivity and increase income of the ARBO.

To prepare the beneficiaries for the livelihood project, DAR in collaboration with the Mayoyao Municipal Agriculture Office, conducted a free-range chicken production training session for the members.


Bongan ARF Inc. president Juan Apagan expressed gratitude to the department for its support in organizing the group, assisting with its  Securities and Exchange Commission  registration, and facilitating participation to the DAR programs. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
