TUNGAWAN, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Zamboanga Sibugay 2nd District Engineering Office recently completed a water refilling station alongside a multi-purpose building in Barangay Sisay, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The 116.85 square meter project will provide safe drinking water and enhance community infrastructure. The allocation of P5 million from the General Appropriations Act (GAA) 2023 emphasizes the government's dedication to fostering economic growth and improving the lives of the residents.
Andres Vidal, a resident of the said barangay, conveyed his appreciation for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of safe drinking water and of the new infrastructure.
“We are thankful that we have a water refilling station because before we used to get our drinking water from nearby barangays and it added costs due to travel. The multi-purpose building will also be useful for community activities,” Vidal said.
The provision of a safe source of drinking water through the water refilling station is poised to address the community's need for safe drinking water. The multi-purpose building also boosts the area's potential for socio-economic development by providing a space for community gatherings and events.
