CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) -- The premier trade exposition of the city, the Cagayan de Oro Business Enterprises, Services, and Trade Exposition, commonly known as 'ORO BEST Expo,' is set to return on October 15-17, 2024.
This year's edition will spotlight the theme "Oro Best Expo Goes Halal," recognizing the vast potential for Halal business opportunities not just in Cagayan de Oro but also in Mindanao.
"We sat down with the embassies of Malaysia and Indonesia, along with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), because Halal is one of the business opportunities that our new entrepreneurs can actually go into, especially in Mindanao," stated Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation Inc. (Oro Chamber) President, Dr. Jesus Jardin, during the chamber's 1st quarter general assembly, March 22.
Jardin emphasized that the focus extends beyond local markets, aiming to position Northern Mindanao as a hub for Halal trade regionally and globally.
He added that Oro Chamber is collaborating with the DTI to align with their strategic direction towards Halal industry development.
Last year, DTI bared that as part of its campaign on Halal development, it forged partnerships with various stakeholders and global players in the Halal ecosystem. It has engaged in constant coordination with Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei Darussalam to adopt best practices and enhance the credibility and integrity of the Philippine Halal Industry. (APB/PIA-10)
