175 STEP graduates in Mountain Province receive starter toolkits

The graduates of the Special Training for Employment Program of the Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority during the starter toolkits distribution through the partnership of the TESDA-Mountain Province and the Office of Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog Jr. in Bontoc.

BONTOC, Mountain Province – A total of 175 graduates of the Special Training for Employment Program of the Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) are grateful to the government for providing them a chance to learn new skills including starter  toolkits, and preparing them for employment and livelihood opportunities.

The graduates are composed of  77 individuals for the Bread and Pastry Production NCII, 30 individuals for Raise Organic Hogs, 28 under Raise Organic Small Ruminants, and 40 for Driving NCII.

Through the partnership of the TESDA-Mountain Province, and the Office of Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog Jr., they were given starter toolkits on March 15.

(We were very happy to have undergone the training. Even if we are already mature women, we still happily went to train, we are very thankful to the Congressman, and we are going to share this, and we hope that the Congressman continues to support us)

“Iya-iyaman TESDA, iya-iyaman Congressman Dalog for the scholarship et dey naagtan kami is opportunity ay mensuro is driving et isupay ay makatulong kendakami isnan future ventures mi,” Alice Faith Aburado said.

(Thank you so much TESDA, thank you so much Congressman Dalog for the scholarship because we are given the opportunity to learn driving which will help us in our future ventures.)

Aside from the free training, recipients were also provided daily allowance, and transportation expenses during their training in 2023 through the P4 million allocation by the Office of the Congressman.

TESDA-Mountain Province Provincial Director Melita D. Pinic leads the distribution of toolkits to the STEP graduates help them start their own business.

TESDA Provincial Director Melita D. Pinic challenged the beneficiaries use their toolkits effectively for their future.

“Dapat gamitin ninyo yung toolkits ninyo productively, kaya nga Special Training for Employment Program, that is the investment of the government,” she said.

Dalog, represented by Wabilyn Lomong-oy, assured continuous support to various programs which help in improving lives.

“We shall continue our role in the Office of the Congressman as an instrument to support every constituent of Mountain Province in our objective to improve lives through government programs like this,” she relayed.(JDP/CVBT-PIA CAR, Mountain Province
