AFP initiates CordilleRun and Fun Bike for a Cause and Peace

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- At least 121 runners and 50 bikers participated in the recent Cordille Run and Fun Bike for a Cause and Peace held in this city.
 
Initiated by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Northern Luzon Command through the 1st Civil Relations Group (CRG) in collaboration with the  various partners, the event aimed to raise funds and awareness in support of parents with children who have special needs in Baguio City and Benguet.
 
Coinciding with the 127th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Army, the initiative also aimed to promote compassion and peace within and beyond communities.
 
1st CRG, Community Relations Service (CRS) AFP Group Commander Major Al Anthony Pueblas said proceeds of the event will benefit the "Baguio-Benguet Warriors-Hands of God,' a support group for parents with children who have special needs in Baguio City and Benguet.
 
"When we had talked to this civic societies organizations," 'yung Fraternal Order of Eagles na mayroon din pala silang mga grupo na tinutulungan wherein we tied up with them, we partner with them and then come up to plan this CordilleRun and Fun bike for a cause and for peace. Saka nabuo 'yun for the purpose of raising funds to help these kids na may serious illnesses na matulungan talaga sila," Pueblas said.
 
 Magalong lauded the noble effort of the CRSAFP, which he said will significantly benefit the beneficiaries who are battling various types of illnesses.
 
"This is a very noble dahil nga 'yung intensyon is sa charity. Dahilan siguro na maraming nag-participate because they would like to support this charity activity," Magalong said.
 
Beneficiaries likewise conveyed their gratitude to the organizers and participants for their support of a cause that is very beneficial.
