Bulanao Norte sustains weekly clean-up drive

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga(PIA)-- Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials and members of Barangay Bulanao Norte as well as personnel from national-line agencies continue to conduct weekly  clean-up drive in support to  President Ferdinand E. Marcos, Jr.’s call for a cleaner and safer environment with the Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan (KALINISAN) sa Bagong Pilipinas program

During the clean-up drive on March 23, an estimated 50 bags of trash were picked up from the streets and canals of Tabuk City’s second most populous barangay, according to City Environment and Natural Resources Office assistant department head George Padalla.

Also participating in the activity were Tabuk City local government employees, and volunteers from non-government organizations and local high schools.

Bulanao Norte has been chosen as the showcase barangay for the nationwide campaign, and is expected to be a model of compliance in conducting weekly clean-up initiatives.

“Ang Bulanao Norte naging showcase barangay. Sila yung mga barangay na magiging modelo na barangay para i-replicate ng ibang barangay upang mas makita ang pakikilahok ng bawat barangay sa adbokasiya o adhikain ng ating Pangulong PBBM,” Jack Gamatero of the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Kalinga said.

“Etong mga barangay na nashow-showcase ay yung mga alam natin na may manpower to do the advocacy of our government,” he added.

Bulanao Norte Punong Barangay Henry Tubban Jr. expressed his full support for the campaign.

“Bigbigen mi met ti panagpili dituy barangay [as showcase barangay] ta ammu yu ket daytuy Barangay Bulanao Norte iti maysa nga show window iti Tabuk City ken iti probinsya ti Kalinga, ket rumbeng laeng nga nalinis daytoy barangay tayo,” Tubban said.(IOS-PIA Kalinga)
