Lamut town celebrates 'Rambakan 2024'

LAMUT, Ifugao(PIA) - - Residents of Lamut particularly those working in government and private offices will have more time to enjoy the celebration of the town’s 65th Founding Anniversary coinciding  with its festival dubbed “Rambakan 2024”.


Malacanang  issued  Proclamation No. 502 declaring April 5, 2024 a special (non-working) day in Lamut town for the celebration of its founding anniversary.  


The proclamation  stated that it is but fitting and proper that the people of Lamut be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration. “Rambakan” means a time to celebrate a successful year of prosperity.


The festival  starts on April 2 with an ecumenical service. On April 3 will be the grand civic and float parade, opening program,  agro-industrial fair, Gabi ng Kabataan, and Bugan ya Wigan di Lamut  pre-pageant.


The street dancing competition; dental and TB caravan; farmers and fisherfolks day; organic and One Town One Product (OTOP); “Pinaka” contest; tilapia grilling; firefighting and rescue skills Olympic; food processing, cooking contest and fruit carving and barangay night will be April 4.


Activities for April 5 include cultural parade competitions, ethnic sports and skills competition, public lunch, continuation of food processing, cooking contest and fruit carving, free Zumba for all, and the “Bugan ya Wigan” coronation night.


Lamut was separated as a municipal district on April 5, 1959. It is composed of barangays Ambasa, Bimpal, Hapid, Jolowon, Lawig, Lucban, Mabatobato, Magulon, Nayon, Panopdopan, Payawan, Pugol, Poblacion East, Poblacion West, Pieza, Sanafe, Salamague, and Umilag. (MBL- PIA CAR,Ifugao)
