DTI, LGU Santiago City empower women entrepreneurs through ‘Greening MSMEs’ seminar

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Santiago Satellite Office and the City Government of Santiago through its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) empowered at least 41 women Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs from the city through conducting the “Greening MSMEs” seminar.

The activity was conducted at Robinsons Place, Santiago City aimed at equipping women entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and knowledge integrating environmental sustainability in their respective chosen businesses as part of the women’s month celebration.

During the seminar, various food and non-food products of MSMEs were also displayed and sold at the mall's atrium for people to buy.

DTI Santiago City Satellite Office Supervising Trade and Industry Development Specialist Shynne Cecille Arao said the adoption of green strategies for existing businesses and the establishment of new enterprises should focus on eco-friendly products and services.

“These initiatives not only enhance business prospects but also contribute significantly to environmental resurgence, aligning economic growth with ecological stewardship,” Arao said.

Arao said that entrepreneurs should consider putting up businesses on eco-friendly products to benefit both the consumers and the entrepreneurs and will result to healthy environment.
