“This RACE operations is another reminder to our employers to comply with provisions under the SSS Law. Registration under the SSS is mandatory; employers will have to comply with their obligations of registering themselves as employers and register their employees. This is for the protection and benefit of the workers in the event of sickness, accidents maternity and disability,” Anselmo said.
Prior to the RACE operations, Anselmo said SSS account officers have visited, and inspected the identified establishments, and gave already initial notices for them to comply.
Among the violations of the identified employers include the non-registration as employers and non-reporting of their employees, and the non-production of records of the employees.
Subjected to the recent RACE include a school, a clothes outlet, auto repair shop, and retail stores.
After receiving the show-cause order during the RACE, SSS will give delinquent employers 15 days to coordinate with their servicing SSS branch office in Baguio City to settle their contribution delinquencies
Umoso explained that the RACE operations, and the notices given are reminders to employers to comply with the provisions under Republic Act 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018.
She appealed to employers to comply with their obligations, and not wait for the SSS to serve show-cause orders and even legal notices to avoid penalties and be subjected in the RACE operations.
“We appeal to employers not to wait for SSS to conduct operations such as RACE, and serve notices to your business establishments. Rather, you come to us and we will assist you, and guide you on the different processes and systems that you need to comply with,” Umoso said.
