Iloilo province opens more job opportunities

ILOILO CITY -- Sixteen jobseekers were hired-on-the-spot during the recent “Bida Ilongga Job Expo” of the Iloilo Provincial Public Employment Service (PESO).

The event formed part of the Iloilo Provincial Government's initiatives for National Women's Month, attracting 107 job seekers and participated in by 16 companies offering over 500 local job vacancies across various sectors.

The 16 hired individuals were composed of 11 females and five males, mostly for cashier, merchandiser, and sales associate positions.

Chemecar Occeña of Sta. Barbara town, who was hired-on-the-spot as sales associate, conveyed her appreciation to PESO.

She likewise encouraged fellow jobseekers to seek help from the Office.

“To my fellow jobseekers, time will come that you will be hired and the PESO Province of Iloilo is there to help us,” said Occeña.

Moreover, 71 applicants were identified as near-hired or scheduled for further interviews.
