CDA brings services closer to Nueva Ecija coops

CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) -- The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) brought its services closer to cooperatives in Nueva Ecija by holding a two-day caravan in Cabanatuan City.

“CDA R3 on Wheels” was held at the Old Capitol Building and served as a one-stop shop to address the needs of cooperatives in obtaining a Certificate of Compliance (COC).

CDA Region III Supervision and Examination Section Head Jasmin Barroga said services offered for non-compliant cooperatives include regulatory guidance and compliance assistance, capacity building and mandatory training, and technical assistance with mandatory reports.

Assistance offered for compliant cooperatives with complete documents, on the other hand, includes same-day issuance of COC. Other services include legal consultation, registration, and amendments.

Bongabon resident Lorielei Vilar expressed her gratitude for bringing the CDA R3 on Wheels to the province, emphasizing its significance amid cooperatives' challenges in meeting their requirements

“The assistance they provided [through the caravan] greatly impacts cooperatives, as it makes the processes easier for us,” she said

Provincial Cooperative and Entrepreneurship Development Office (PCEDO) Head Lorna Mae Vero assured support for the cooperatives.

"Through PCEDO, we are here to extend our hand in addressing compliance needs and other aspects of cooperative management," she pressed.

For other concerns and queries, cooperatives in the province may directly coordinate with PCEDO at 0968-854-6723 or contact CDA Nueva Ecija Field Office at 0909-423-2791. (CLJD/MAECR-PIA 3)
