ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (PIA) – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Zamboanga Sibugay Field Office recently conducted a Career Development Support Program (CDSP) to several schools in Zamboanga Sibugay, providing students with valuable insights into the labor market.

More than 2,000 grade 12 students actively participated in the CDSP sessions, which commenced recently and will continue until May 2024. Participants expressed gratitude for the practical advice and relevant information shared, noting its positive impact on their career aspirations.

Jaithon Cahilig, a grade 12 student from Surabay National High School, expressed his gratitude for the program, emphasizing its significance in guiding students like himself towards their future careers.

“Thank you to all the people who organized this initiative. It has been helpful for us, grade 12 students, in deciding which career or course to pursue after graduation,” Cahilig said. 

DOLE’s senior officer Michael Vincent Macrohon and Labor and Employment Officer  Erika Mae Astuto, shared their expertise on various aspects of the labor market during the sessions. Students gained insights into emerging job trends, in-demand skills, wage rates, and employment opportunities.

The endeavor underscores the importance of providing accurate labor market information to learners. Through joint efforts, they aim to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of career paths and industry dynamics.
