Malabon pageant candidates confidently pose in swimwear

MANILA, (PIA) -- Candidates vying for the titles of Ginoo at Binibining Malabon 2024 displayed confidence and poise during the swimwear competition and preliminary interviews held at M&A Resort in Barangay Maysilo on Thursday, April 11.

Mayor Jeannie Sandoval highlighted that the competition goes beyond mere swimwear presentation and Q&A sessions. It's about instilling confidence, influencing Malabueños—especially the youth—to prioritize fitness and health, and demonstrating awareness of societal issues to contribute to solutions.

(In this part of the competition, the candidates are not only able to show their skills in wearing their swim wear and in answering different questions. They also show their confidence in carrying themselves in front of the public, in influencing Malabueños, especially the youth, to stay fit and healthy, and in having knowledge of various issues in society to say they are ready to help address these problems.)

According to Catherine Larracas from the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (CTCAO), the swimwear segment assessed the candidates' physical fitness, poise, style, and confidence. Meanwhile, the preliminary interviews evaluated their communication skills, intelligence, and personality.

Both components play a role in advancing candidates to subsequent rounds. The final selection of the top 5 will be based on their overall performance, including the swimwear competition, talent showcase, Tambobong Festival attire, and Evening Gown segment.

Winners of Ginoo at Binibining Malabon 2024 will be judged based on wit and intelligence (40 percent), beauty and poise (30 percent), and confidence and personality (30 percent).

The event, part of Malabon's 24th Cityhood Anniversary on April 21 and 425th Founding Anniversary (Tambobong Festival) on May 21, aims to highlight candidates' talents, skills, wit, and dedication while promoting gender equality, local culture, heritage, and arts linked to Malabon's history.

On April 17, candidates will demonstrate their talents in a Talent Competition at Robinsons Malabon. (PIA-NCR)
