CAJIDIOCAN, Romblon (PIA) -- Over 15,000 residents of Magdiwang in Romblon are set to benefit greatly from the newly established Super Health Center by the Department of Health (DOH) in this town.

The inauguration of the new facility was conducted with Senator Christopher “Bong” Go and local officials attending the event on April 9, coinciding with the Day of Valor.

This multi-story building is expected to provide quality medical services to the residents, particularly significant as there is no district hospital in the town, with the nearest hospital being an hour away from Magdiwang.

Magdiwang is one of the five towns in Romblon province where DOH has constructed a Super Health Center. Other towns include Romblon, Calatrava, San Andres, and San Jose.

A Super Health Center functions as a semi-hospital, significantly larger than a Rural Health Unit, and equipped with various facilities such as birthing centers, isolation rooms, pharmacies, among others. It can also accommodate laboratory testing, X-ray, ultrasound, and dialysis units.

Go, on his statement during the inauguration ceremony, highlighted that the Super Health Center will utilize PhilHealth's

The Konsulta program aims to provide free outpatient services to all Filipinos under the Universal Health Care Law. (PJF/PIA Mimaropa - Romblon)
