DepEd personnel undergo basic fire safety, firefighting training

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) -- At least 50 non-teaching personnel from the Department of Education-Schools Division Office of Ilagan have undergone a 2-day basic fire safety and firefighting training conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection-City of Ilagan.

The training aims to ensure that all non-teaching personnel from the different schools in SDO Ilagan are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills on fire safety and firefighting to be used in their respective assignments whenever there are fire incidents.

BFP Ilagan personnel, led by City Fire Marshall Chief Inpsector Franklin Tabingo, discussed fire safety tips, basic firefighting procedures, fire prevention and safety measures, and first aid.

Tabingo said equipping school officials on fire prevention and safety measures is necessary to ensure the proper response and safety during fire incidents.

He said the BFP is always prepared in responding to any fire incident but school personnel and community folk should be equipped on the fire fighting techniques as they serve as first responders.

Tabingo lauded the initiative of SDO City of Ilagan for initiating the conduct of the training.
