BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) -- The Provincial Local Government Unit here has started the groundworks designed to transform the provincial capitol compound as ‘Luneta of the North’.

Provincial Engineer Jerry Tan said the implementation of the ‘Luneta of the North’ project involves the construction and establishment of 10 major sub-projects worth P39.21 million.

“These sub-projects are expected to draw Novo Vizcayanos to enjoy various attractions and amenities within the provincial capitol compound, especially at night,” he said.

Tan said the ‘Luneta of the North’ project was conceived to bring back the beauty of the province’s seat of governance  as a local tourism attraction.

“This will also support our anti-illegal drugs and anti-criminality campaigns. The capitol compound will also offer free internet services,” he said.

“Other offices and facilities to be illuminated with solar-powered lights are the People’s and Nightingale’s Halls, Bureau of Internal Revenue and Red Cross, among others,” he said.

Also part of the ‘Luneta of the North’ project are the deployment of eight rolling stores to be rented by Small Micro Enterprises, the repair of the boating lagoon and the  the completed repair of its bridges, landscaping of the capitol grounds, conversion of the prayer room into a Tea House which can accomodate 44 persons, improvement of the Ammungan and Childrens Parks and the construction of two public rest rooms.
